Extend-a-Family Waterloo Region’s DSP 2023 Conference

Join us for Journey from Trauma to Trust: Tools for Caring for Ourselves and Others, a conference presented by Extend-A-Family Waterloo Region.

Every person is on a journey to become a part of a community, where our gifts, talents and whole selves are valued by those around us. However, every person’s journey is uniquely their own, and while some journeys have been mostly joyful, many have been tinged by challenge and trauma. How do we support someone whose journey has made it difficult for them to trust others? How do we recognize the ways trauma may have shaped our own journey and impacted how we support someone else’s?

By investing in learning and developing strategies to care for ourselves, we build our ability to support people to see a new story and journey for themselves – one of compassion, resilience, kindness and grace. One where we begin moving from trauma to trust.

Join us for an opportunity to learn new practices to care for ourselves and others as we learn, share and grow together as support providers in our communities.
