Things to Do – March 2015

March looks destined to come in like a lion, and I hope out like a lamb! Thankfully, there are tonnes of unique community happenings to distract us from the weather. The hardest part will be deciding which ones to do…

Join in the excitement Saturday, March 7th – 9am to 4pm, Celebrate Women of Aviation. Try your hand at one of the experiential hands-on aviation booths, listen to amazing women present in the aviation speakers panel, then meet some of the panelists at the Meet & Greet reception. Most excitingly, arrive early and register for one of the free flights being sponsored, and experience flying for the first time! If you are you a girl between the age of 4 to 100 and never been up in a small airplane be sure to be there for 9:00 am registration – there are 150 available seats for women and girls who have never flown.

Come taste the tradition! On Saturday, March 28, 2015 from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm the town of Elmira will celebrate North America’s most delicious natural treat – maple syrup! Since 1965, the annual Elmira Maple Syrup Festival has attracted thousands of visitors to taste local maple syrup poured on pancakes. The festival has plenty of exciting family-friendly activities, from exploring maple production in a sugar bush to browsing the Outdoor Mall to ticketed entertainment at the Woolwich Memorial Centre.
